Bodybuilding Builds Successful People

Saturday June 3, 2006
I just came back from judging the drug tested NGA United States Championships and as I talked to some of the bodybuilding competitors prior to the show I decided to inquire if they learned anything about themselves as they were getting ready for competition. The common theme amongst all answers was the following:

  1. Preparing for the show made them more focused individuals, better time managers and multi-taskers. All of these people work for a living, some more than 40 hours a week, some work nights, and also have families.

  2. Bodybuilding taught them that if you put your mind to something then provided you put the work into it you can accomplish anything.
My hat goes off to all of these people who regardless of how they place are all champions in my book as it requires a real champion to balance out the rigors of bodybuilding competition with a regular life, family and job.
