Exercise Of The Week: The Barbell Squat

Barbell SquatsBecause we have been focusing lately on bodybuilding subjects geared towards gaining weight in the form of muscle, I felt it was necessary to talk about an exercise that is an absolute must for any mass oriented bodybuilding routine. This exercise is the barbell squat.

The barbell squat is the king of lower body exercises. A properly executed squat is not only safe (opposed to what some people claim) but also involves all lower body muscles in addition to upper body ones as well. When performed properly, it has an overall growth stimulating effect. In order to have well developed legs, and a powerful physique, the barbell squat is a must!

The key to reaping the rewards from the barbell squat comes in knowing how to properly perform it.
