Bodybuilding Exercise of the Week: How to Perform the Chest Dips to Target the Chest

Thursday November 6, 2008
Chest Dips; Photo Credit: Lina RiveraThis week I will discuss another great chest exercise: the Chest Dips. To me this exercise is as important to the chest as squats are for the legs and pull-ups are for the back. The Chest Dip is a Class 4 exercise that when properly executed not only targets the mid and lower portions of the chest but also the shoulders and triceps as well. And because you are moving your body through space, you will get the most stimulation possible, and therefore, the fastest results. The reason for this is that in order for you to perform this exercise you need to be capable of not only carrying the added resistance, but also your bodyweight as well. Therefore, many muscles are called into play in order to stabilize the body and perform the lifting.
