Bodybuilding FAQ - Are There Any Risks Associated with Taking Weight Loss Supplements and Fat Burners?

Wednesday December 10, 2008
The risk factor varies depending on the type of weight loss supplements or fat burners that a person chooses to take. For instance, some over the counter weight loss supplements are very high on caffeine and contain other stimulants which may not make them a good choice for people with hypertension or cardiac disease. Other fat burners are much lower, or devoid, of stimulants; so those do not represent any problems for most people.

There are also prescription weight loss medications. Before using prescription diet pills I would recommend the person considering them to research the side effects of the medications by doing a search on the Internet and discussing the findings with their Doctor. Every medication has different side effects so the consumer should be well informed about the risks before using them.

I feel that the best policy here is for the person looking to use these products to inform themselves by looking for information from reputable sources on the weight loss supplement or fat burner that they are considering to use. In this manner, the consumer can understand how these work and what they can expect from using these products. And always remember that long term fat loss from your bodybuilding program is a result of the consistent application of your bodybuilding training and dieting efforts. Results never come solely from a bottle.
