In addition, I like the message delivered by both the book and the DVD, which is to follow the diet as a lifestyle, not as something you do for just 12 weeks prior to a competition, or special event, and then toss away. I've been preaching that philosophy for years.
Finally, this is probably the healthiest and most practical way I've ever come across for getting in contest shape. As Ive come to find out from talking to many competitors and studying different strategies for getting in contest shape, a lot of strategies simply provide short term results and are not the healthiest ones in the world either.
What The Get Lean Kit Consists Of
The Get Lean Kit is a system consisting of:
- A 190 page manual containing all of the information you need to get in the best shape of your life and to successfully compete on a bodybuilding or figure contest if desired.
- A Instructional DVD with a full workout routine performed by Lee Labrada himself, exercise descriptions, and an incredible nutrition seminar by Keith Klein.
- An Accu-Measure caliper so that you can track your body fat and progress as the weeks go by.
Instructional DVD
I want to start discussing this DVD as I think just the contents of the DVD more than cover for the price of the system. What I first looked at, of course, was Lees workout routine and descriptions of all the exercises he uses. The exercises are all performed in a real gym environment and specific instructions are provided on how to perform them properly. Lee also talks about his workout split and even has an example of how one of his posing routines for the Mr. Olympia looked like, which is of great help for someone who is looking to do their first competition. And if the person watching is not looking to compete, then it serves as a great tool for inspiration.
I then took a look at the nutrition seminar. Truth be told, I expected it to be good but I did not expect to get much out of it since I do nutrition seminars as well and read tons of literature on the subject. However, once the seminar started, my eyes and ears were glued to the TV set. Keith Klein has the most unique and effective way of explaining nutrition I have ever seen. He's extremely gifted as he takes very complex information and delivers it in such a way that even the most absolute beginner will understand it. As a matter of fact, the day after I watched it, I made my wife and my assistant watch the video as well to see their response since both of them have short attention spans. Like myself, they were completely hooked to it and absorbed the information as well. For instance, my wife finally understood what I have been trying to explain to her for years regarding the foods having a "Fat Free" label though in reality they do contain fat calories. And of course, one thing that I love about Keith, is that he obviously practices what he preaches. I dont know about you but I hate it when someone is giving a nutrition lecture but yet they look like they could use some help themselves.
