The Importance of Back Training
Friday February 17, 2006
Many people neglect back training because this muscle is not one that typically can be seen in the mirror, unlike the chest and the arms. However, not only does a fully developed back enhances your V-taper, thus creating the illusion of a smaller waist, but it also serves to improve your posture as well by providing much needed strength for every day chores that require pulling. If you are a male bodybuilder, a wide and thick back is essential for creating that illusion of huge size and strength. I yet have to see an impressive physique that has no back. Ladies can also benefit from a well developed back as it helps to create the illusion of smaller hips and waist.
In order to have a fully developed back, the size of the lats need to be maximized in order to attain a wide look, as well as the thickness of the middle back and lower back muscles. In this article, IFBB Figure Pro Pauline Nordin shows us the bodybuilding back training routine that she used to attain an award winning back. This routine is more suited to advanced bodybuilders (both male and female) though beginning and intermediate athletes can benefit from it as well by lowering the amounts of sets performed.
