If you are just getting started in bodybuilding, you will experience rapid gains with any sort of training program. The best thing to do at this point is to slowly introduce the body to weight training, and at the same time, start adjusting your diet so that it helps to facilitate muscular gains. At this stage, any sensible bodybuilding workout routine will produce great results as the stimulus is so new to the body that very little of it is needed to elicit changes.
However, as we become more experienced, the body learns to cope with the stresses imposed by the bodybuilding program. If you do not know how to change the bodybuilding routine in order to force the body to continue adapting you will hit a plateau, which is a point where no muscle mass is gained and no fat is lost. So in other words, you continue to train and diet but no progress is made.
