Bodybuilding FAQ - Does More Time In The Gym Yield More Bodybuilding Gains?
Sunday March 30, 2008
A very frequently asked bodybuilding question asked by beginners who are just getting started in bodybuilding is whether more time spent weight training at the gym translates into more bodybuilding gains. Common sense would tell you that the more effort one puts into something, the more results one naturally gets, right?
Oddly enough, when it comes to bodybuilding, just plain hard work is not good enough; one must also work very smart. Too much training will raise your cortisol levels, a stress hormone that breaks down muscle tissue, and thus will not only prevent growth, but also put you at a risk of overtraining and losing muscle mass as well. A sad scenario considering that hard work is being put into the endeavor.
