Bodybuilding Exercise of the Week: How to Perform Lunges to Target the Leg Muscles

Lunges; Photo Credit: Lina Rivera (c) 2007Lunges are another great exercise for the legs. They can be used in addition to the squat or as a great alternative for those bodybuilders with lower back injuries that cannot use the squat.

Lunges target all of the lower body muscles, and depending on the way that they are executed, emphasis can be placed on the quadriceps muscles or shifted to the hamstrings and glutes.
