I understand that. There is a huge misconception out there that as long as you lift heavy you can eat anything you want. That is very far away from the truth. Being a victim of anorexia myself back when I was 12 years old, I remember that the only reason I fell to it was lack of education; simply not knowing how to lose the fat! That is why I'm so passionate about teachiong others how to attain their physiques in the right manner. Thank God that like myself, you lived to share your story. So what happenned next?
Definately grateful to be here. After surviving my eating disorders, I changed my major at The University of Tampa and began studying subjects in the field of Exercise Science. This was one of the best choices that I have ever made. I studied for hours at school and at home. I spent my free time educating myself on the proper ways to go about achieving a great physique. I learned the importance of both lifting and proper nutrition and how food should be your friend rather than your enemy. At this point, I knew my main purpose in life was to help educate others on how to achieve the body of their dreams and I am currently working towards that.
I'm sure that you will do great at that since you are so passionate about that. Believe me, I know the feeling and there are alot of people out there, both men and women that need this information badly. I could certainly use a side kick in helping me spread the word (LOL).
So what got you into competition?
During my junior year of college I had a decent physique, but I wanted to stand out. I didnt want to be average, so I turned to experienced competitors and devised a plan for myself in order to get stage ready. I went from a muscular 169 pounds to a lean 135 pounds through tons of hard work and determination. This alone made me a believer in the importance of eating the right foods. As a result, I have completed my first two figure competitions placing 2nd on the first one and winning my class at the Natural United States Championships.
I think that just proves that if you put your mind to something you can accomplish anything! How has your life changed by adopting a healthy bodybuilding lifestyle?
Turning my life around and adopting a healthy bodybuilding lifestyle has been very rewarding and I hope to pass on everything I have learned to those around me. I want to help others become healthy and happy. I hope to influence as many people as I can by helping them realize that there will never be the perfect body, but they can achieve their goals through hard work and proper nutrition. Life is all about balance and learning to love what you were born with!
I agree with all of that! Since you would like to start helping people out there by sharing your vast knowledge, then let me ask you some questions about your workout and diet regimen so that others can benefit.
No problem! Fire away.
