Balancing Figure Competition With Being A Wife, Mother, and Fitness Trainer
[Q] Many times the biggest excuse I get from women regarding their inability to embark on an exercise program is the fact that they are wives, mothers and have regular jobs. However, you execute all of these roles wonderfully and still are able to not only train, but compete at top level shows...all of this with a smile on your face! How do you do it? What does your daily schedule look like?
Its plum crazy! I make sure that it doesnt inflict for the most part with everyone my cardio I do before everyone is up and my second cardio I do before the kids are home from school and before Tim is home from work. I work out in between my clients and I use my agility workout in my classes that I teach. I try to make it fun because the diet alone is tough and makes me cranky so I make the workouts enjoyable.
[Q] What advice can you give to women out there regarding how to incorporate a healthy lifestyle of exercise and diet while balancing the rest of their lives?
Exercise when no one needs you on your time, that way you do not feel guilty for taking time away from your loved ones and you will enjoy it so much more!
[Q] What drives you to keep competing and getting better at what you do?
To see just how far I can take this, continue meeting new friends in our sport and also continue to improve each season.
[Q] Anything else that you would like to add?
I believe everyone should push themselves in some form of activity and it does not have to be competitions but just for personal satisfaction, do one more rep, run one more minute, do one more pushup or add one more day to your workout regiment.
[Q] How can you be contacted?
